DDPA in front of the Oireachtas Housing Committee

The DDPA spoke to the Oireachtas Housing Committee today on issues around the Large Scale Residential Development Bill that is proposed to succeed the SHD legislation.

The DDPA highlighted that the LSRD Bill comes off the back of the failed SHD legislation. Although the DDPA welcomes the return of the Local Authority as primary Planning Authority in the LSRD Bill, it highlighted the futility of this Bill. There is nothing in the LSRD Bill that could not already be implemented using existing planning law.
